📝Identifying Large-Scale Neural Networks Using fMRI

Contrary to the DMN, the CEN, also known as the “cognitive-control” or “task-positive” network, is most active during cognitive tasks and is implicated in cognitive functioning, including attention and working memory. The DMN and the CEN are often seen as opposing networks, and task-related interactions between these networks are changed in MDD (Hamilton et al., 2011; Sheline et al., 2009).
